Life is Strange Before the Storm is a prequel to Life is Strange. I waited until all three episodes came out before making my purchase just so I can binge on it.
Life is Strange Before the Storm is a story driven game where you make difficult choices that (sort of) affects the later parts of the story. Although this is a prequel, the game mechanics are different as you don’t play as Max in this game – hence no rewind powers. This game starts out very strong. Throughout the game, I was worried that the game will finish and the relationship between Chloe and Rachel would be too far fetched in time for the start of the first game. But I’m very happy with the ending and the relationship between the two teenagers built up very nicely and I can see it go up to the point of where it is in Life is Strange.
This game resembles more of a Visual Novel game than the first game in that the majority of the time is spent watching the story progress. I understand why this is the case. Since this story is set before the first game, it really can’t deviate too much from the main game. It’s a shame that I know what happens to both characters.
I don’t want to spoil too much of the story so I’ll just say it was fun and I’d definitely recommend it to fans of the first game. I chose the second ending first…
